From the very beginning, back in 1969 Captain D’s sole mission was to serve freshly prepared, delicious seafood at affordable prices. This fast-casual restaurant was actually known as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers back then, and there was only one location, in Donelson, Tennessee. By 1973, however, the restaurant had not only changed names and become Captain D’s, but it had also become a huge hit and was expanding quickly. At this point, the owners decided to focus on seafood and started adding some of Captain D’s specials like children’s comic books and the Kids’ Birthday Club.

Today, after over 45 years of evolution, there are more than 500 Captain D’s locations all over the United States, and each location has a coastal atmosphere that’s welcoming and fun for customers of all ages. Of course, customers don’t just choose Captain D’s for its ambiance.
