The Steak ‘n Shake menu prices are generally a bit higher than most quick-serve restaurants. There are two reasons for this: One is that it serves high-quality products – burgers made from steaks, not just cheap ground beef. The other reason is that the restaurant also has “sit-down” service, not just walk up counters. But Steak ‘n Shake’s extra menu cost is worth the price. Their steakburgers are great, and the Steak n’ Shake hand-dipped milkshakes can’t be beat. Steak ‘n Shake was started in Normal, Illinois in 1934. It probably wasn’t normal (bad pun- sorry) to make a steakburgers or hand-dipped shakes in 1934, but Gus Belt’s idea has grown from the one little restaurant to over 400 locations.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
The Steak ‘n Shake menu prices are generally divided into Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, 4 Dollar Menu, Up All Night, and Kids menus. The Steak ‘n Steak Breakfast Menu items include biscuits, bagels, tacos, breakfast bowls Steakburgers and skillet specials. Prices range from $0.99 for a Breakfast Taco or a Fruit and Yogurt Parfait to $5.99 for one of the Skillet Breakfasts. You can even get a full “Home-style” breakfast with eggs, choice of bacon, or sausage, and then add on pancakes, biscuit, toast or bagel. This is certainly not the usual “quick serve” fare.
The Lunch & Dinner menu includes the signature Steakburgers, ranging from $3.99 to $5.99. “Meals” are also available, which include a drink and French fries. Meals range in price from $4.29 for a Steak Frank Meal to $6.49 for the Steak ‘n Shake Steakburgers meals – such as the Cheesy Cheddar Steakburgers Meal, or the Bacon Lovers Double Steakburgers Meal. Other Lunch and Dinner menu items include sandwiches, salads, chili, steakburgers shooters, and a variety of “Steak Franks”. Money savers can enjoy discounts during happy hour.
4 dollar menu
The $4 Menu includes a number of items that are served with fries for only $3.99. These are not flavorless burgers with a dab of katsup and thin meat patty. These are great, tasty burgers the Original Double ‘n Cheese, the Cajun Double Steakburgers, the Grilled Cheese Steakburgers Melt, and the Queso Single Steakburgers. And they are all served with fries! You even get to choose your favorite fries – either Parmesan Cheese ‘n Herbs Fries, Cajun Fries, Salt ‘n Vinegar Fries, or Sea Salt ‘n Cracked Pepper Fries.
Of course, any of the Steak ‘n Shake menu items can be accompanied by one of their hand-dipped milk shakes. You can order a specialty milkshake in any number of flavors (Oreo Cookies, Salted Caramel…so many good flavors) for around $3.49 each. For the same price, you can also order the Steak ‘n Steak signature side-by-side milkshakes (half one flavor, half another flavor in the same glass. We don’t know how they do it). The Steak ‘n Shake Classic milkshakes generally run around $2.99.
