Good news America – you really won’t be offered a Ringo Burger (BK Burger cooked with a slice of apple) locally. You’d have to go to Japan for one of those. The Burger King Menu items in North America don’t carry such exotic items as Spam Breakfast Sandwiches (Philippines) or a Mutton Burger (India). No, Burger King’s menu, though it offers seasonal favorites and Limited-Time specials, sticks to their “Core” American favorites. Hamburgers, fries, chicken sandwiches, salads, drinks and breakfast items – those are the staples of the Burger King food menu. At least in the US.
BK works with local favourites
While the BK menu does boast a list of “International” favorites, these are actually chicken sandwiches with an international flair – such as the Italian Original Chicken Sandwich (chicken, mozzarella cheese and marina sauce) or the (limited production) French Chicken Sandwich and a few burritos. Other than the few items listed above, and an occasional promotional item like a guacamole burger, it’s American all the way: cheeseburgers, hamburgers, shakes, fries and soft drinks.
The BK Menu is all-American when it comes to breakfast items as well. Ok, there are Crossand’wiches, made with croissants – which are, well…French. But they put together with very American ingredients: sausage, egg, cheese, bacon. The breakfast sandwiches and biscuits likewise have ingredients that will be familiar to the American consumers – no spam breakfast sandwiches. Yes, there are breakfast burritos, filled with sausage and eggs, and typical US favorites like pancakes and hash browns.
For over 50 years, the Burger King menu has catered to American taste buds. Their brand was established on the promise of 100% pure beef and fresh ingredients – freshly sliced, freshly toasted, and freshly cooked when you place your order (not sitting around under heat lamps, or defrosted and re-animated in a microwave). For good value, and flame-broiled goodness, you can’t go wrong with the Burger King menu prices – American style.
