Perkins started out as a single pancake house, owned by brothers Matt and Ivan Perkins in 1958. With the success of their first location, they decided to expand, and by the 1960s they decided to make Perkins Pancake House into a franchise. During the ’60s and ‘70s, they actually merged with another restaurant, and the restaurant franchise became Perkins Cake and Steak.

As the franchise continued to grow through the ‘70s and ‘80s, adding over 200 new locations, the restaurants continued to see success, and the name was eventually changed to Perkins Family Restaurant. After one more name change, the Perkins Restaurant and Bakery that you know today came into existence, and now there are Perkins locations in 34 states and in Canada, as well.

Because it remains a family-friendly, casual dining restaurant, Perkins prices are kept at affordable, competitive rates so that you can treat everyone to breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and dessert, too. For those who love their eggs, omelets, pancakes, and hash browns, Perkins serves breakfast all day, and breakfast specials include the Perkins® Perfect Platters with delicious combinations of pancakes, eggs, sausage, and/or bacon. You can also opt for à la carte options or “Fresh-Cracked Classics”, too.

For lunch and dinner, you can choose between burgers and sandwiches, Hello Big Bowls, and Fork-Worthy Entrees. Among the Big Bowls, you’ll find a sesame ginger steak dish, Santa Fe chicken chipotle, and the Ragin’ Cajun, too. Entrees include fresh-baked chicken pot pie, Tuscan grilled chicken, Butterball® turkey and dressing, a jumbo shrimp dinner, and a brand new dish featuring grilled chicken over rice with mushrooms and asparagus.

Then, of course, there’s the bakery. The Perkins menu has a lot of amazing options for freshly baked and delicious pastries, including rich cream pies, Mammoth Muffins®, fruit pies, cookies, ice cream treats, milkshakes, and more. Plus, you can also make to-go bakery orders, too, if you didn’t save room for dessert while you were enjoying your meal.

Perkins prices vary but are always affordable, and they offer senior citizen discounts on their breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus to people who are 55 and over.
